Dr. Donald L. Kirkpatrick

As Professor Emeritus, University Of Wisconsin, Don has been active giving Keynote Presentations at national conferences of professional organizations including the American Society For Training and Development (ASTD), VNU Expositions (TRAINING magazine) and International Quality and Productivity Center (IQPC). He has also given presentations and conducted workshops for many Chapters of ASTD and the Society For Human Resources Management (SHRM). In addition, he has conducted programs for many organizations including Knowledge Advisors, Pacificorp, IBM, Ford, Commonwealth Of Puerto Rico, Schwans, HUD, the United Nations and programs in Argentina, Singapore, Poland, Spain, Turkey and Korea.
His experience includes Professor of Management at the University Of Wisconsin, Training Director with International Minerals and Chemical Corp. and Personnel Manager at Bendix Products Aerospace. He has written seven supervisory/management Inventories and seven training and management books including EVALUATING TRAINING PROGRAMS: THE FOUR LEVELS which is used all over the world as the standard for evaluation.
Don has a BBA, MBA and a Ph.D. from the University Of Wisconsin. His dissertation was "Evaluating A Human Relations Training Program For Supervisors." He is a Past President of the American Society for Training And Development (ASTD) and a member of TRAINING magazine's "HRD Hall Of Fame". At the 2004 ASTD National Conference, Don was given the "Lifetime Achievement Award in Workplace Learning and Performance." Only one award is given each year. The first recipient was Peter Drucker in 1998.
He served in Europe and Japan in World War II. He is Chairman Of The Board of South Asian Ministries, Senior Elder at Elmbrook Church, and is active in Gideons International. As owner of CARDINAL PRINTS art gallery, Don buys and sells limited edition prints by 35 artists including Peterson, Redlin, Troiani, and Kinkade. With all of the above not withstanding, he still finds time for tennis, fishing, music, and golf.
